Simple, painless, quick

Uroflow Testing in Cape Coast

If passing urine has become slow, weak or difficult, a uroflow test measures what is actually happening — painlessly, in a few minutes, with nothing to swallow and nothing inserted.

What we offer

Measuring the problem, not guessing at it

You pass urine into a special measuring toilet, and it records how fast and how strongly the flow comes. It is one of the most useful first tests in men with prostate symptoms, and it helps our urology team decide whether you need treatment, an ultrasound scan, or simply reassurance.

  • Slow, weak or interrupted urine flow
  • Straining, or difficulty starting to pass urine
  • Getting up at night to pass urine
  • Monitoring prostate symptoms over time

Oak Tree Medical Services is in North OLA, Cape Coast, in Ghana’s Central Region — next to the Zoomlion offices, behind the Ameen Sangari factory. Everyone is welcome, wherever you are coming from — patients travel to us from across Cape Coast and the Central Region, including Elmina, Abura, Pedu, Mankessim, Saltpond, Anomabo and beyond.

Good to know

Uroflow testing — your questions

Does the test hurt?

Not at all. You pass urine into a measuring device in private. Nothing is inserted and nothing is swallowed.

How do I prepare?

Come with a comfortably full bladder — drink normally and avoid passing urine for an hour or two before your appointment. Do not make yourself uncomfortable; tell us if you cannot hold on.

Who needs a uroflow test?

Most often men with prostate symptoms — a slow or weak stream, straining, or getting up at night. It is also used in women and in younger men where the bladder is not emptying properly.

What happens if the result is abnormal?

A low flow rate does not by itself diagnose anything — it tells us to look further. Our urology team will discuss the next step, which may be a scan, a blood test or treatment.

Passing urine become difficult?

A few minutes of testing can explain a lot. Message or call us to book.
