Most wound problems come from dressings changed too late or a wound left unreviewed. We clean and dress the wound, treat infection where it is present, and book you back in until it has healed. Where a wound needs surgical attention, our surgical team is in the same building, and your dressings and antibiotics come from our pharmacy.

Oak Tree Medical Services is in North OLA, Cape Coast, in Ghana’s Central Region — next to the Zoomlion offices, behind the Ameen Sangari factory. Everyone is welcome, wherever you are coming from — patients travel to us from across Cape Coast and the Central Region, including Elmina, Abura, Pedu, Mankessim, Saltpond, Anomabo and beyond.

How often should a dressing be changed?
It depends entirely on the wound — some need daily changes, others every few days. We set a schedule for your particular wound and review it as healing progresses.
How do I know if my wound is infected?
Warning signs are increasing pain, spreading redness, swelling, heat, pus or a bad smell, and feeling feverish or unwell. If you notice any of these, come in rather than waiting for your next appointment.
I have diabetes and a sore on my foot. Should I worry?
Please have it seen quickly. Diabetic foot wounds can worsen fast and with little pain to warn you, and early treatment is what prevents serious complications. Call us on +233 20 012 4712.
Do you provide the dressings?
Yes — dressings and any antibiotics you need come from our on-site pharmacy, so you do not have to go looking for supplies.
